Testimonials
I worked with the vision exercises several times (5-7), then neglected to do them regularly. I am trying to use the exercises in my daily reading. When I first started I was wearing a 1.50 power reading glasses with my lamp on the brightest of 3 settings. Lately I started getting an eyestrain with the glasses and realized that they were too strong. I now use a 1.25 or none at all, with the lower setting of light. I plan to continue doing the exercises, although I admit I am not regimented to do them daily as recommended.

Vision Training: The Brain is the Key

The daily process of working with my brain-injured son was really a process of mapping the brain. Most professionals think of vision in terms of the eye. Consequently, most remedies to improve vision, like corrective lenses, surgery, and even the standard eye exercises emphasize actual eye function. But when the brain is considered as well, one immediately understands that these remedies are a short-term gain and long-term loss.

Our visual system, simply put, sees things in two ways. We have a high intensity system in which your brain is very alert and your eyes tend to zoom in. We have another system that is more relaxed in which one is seeing with less acuity but a much larger area. We call this zooming out.

Consider the effect of high resolution televisions and small computer screens on the brain. Icons need to be small and clear so that you recognize them but they don’t take up too much space. Video cameras have their own lens and focus very clearly on the eyes of the actor. You are constantly being asked to zoom in. It doesn’t necessarily matter how far away you are from the computer or TV, your brain is still constantly processing very small, high-resolution images.

In this case the most central part of the visual system becomes overly developed to the neglect of the background. But it is the part of the brain that sees small, detailed things that gets preferentially developed to the exclusion of the part of the brain used for wide range processing.

Keep in mind, this is a process that tends to go on for many decades.

The eye also gets used to zooming into small things. Typically what happens is that the eye gradually loses the ability to zoom out. It is at that point a person stands in line for corrective lenses.

Glasses Backfire

Unfortunately, glasses are the exact wrong approach in the long run, even though you will see better at first. The glasses do two things. First, they insure that your own lens in your eye really does not have to move, making you dependent on the glasses. Using IMPROVE YOUR VISION DVD completely reverses that trend. Second, and even more insidious is the fact that the corrective lens leads to even further neglect of your wide range vision. FLASH VISION DVD was developed specifically for that reason.

So we consider eyeglasses a serious problem. It is not that we are annoyed that so many people are spending so much money insuring that their vision will deteriorate even faster. The reason we get annoyed has more to do with the effect on the brain that this visual deterioration has.

The brain is designed to use the broad, wide range vision most of the time, but with the visual progression we described above, the brain is forced into a high intensity mode just to see things. We consider this very detrimental for almost every aspect of ones physiology.

More directly, we believe strongly that the same process described above is primary reason so many people suffer memory loss with age. Vision loss is memory loss.
