Reading Intro

Flash Vision, among other things, develops your ability to see clearly without having to focus as much.

On the back of the eye is the macula, which is for detail vision. There is a small area within the macula called the fovea with even a higher concentration of nerve cells for even better vision.

Reading small font for prolonged periods of time is very hard on the eyes simply because the lens is forced to change shape. However, with really good vision you don’t have to focus nearly as much.

The beauty of developing your vision with Flash Vision is that you save your lens while gradually developing the ability to read faster.

Many people are actually reading one letter or one word at a time, processing that word or letter, then looking at the next word or letter. When you focus on something that small, the lens is forced to focus maximally to get all the information onto the fovea. Besides being hard on the eyes, this pattern is very slow.

Exercise 2

Remember what it feels like to zoom out? If you keep training with Flash Vision, zooming out will become the default posture.

However, habit dictates that you might you reflexively zoom in as soon as you look at words. Here is what your brain sees when you zoom in too much. Notice that the middle letters are very clear and the peripheral letters are very blurry.

Now, this is what your brain sees when you zoom out. It will never be completely clear, but you can see a much larger area clearly enough to read.
