Why We Have Things Backwards

Most people see health as having health insurance, getting check-ups, taking pills, and hoping something bad does not happen. That is not our vision of health. That is our vision of the path to death.

How We Are Built

We were built to grow. Growth has nothing to do with where we are, but whether or not we are moving. The process of growth is exciting, and at times painful. It is like we are being molded into a more perfect version of ourselves. It is only under conditions of growth that our body can work properly.

Symptoms are simply signals that give us information. For example, when we are in a meaningless job, we get depressed. When we run too far, we get pain. When we need food, we get hungry. None of those things should ever be treated. They are the treatment.

But there are other things going on in our body behind the scenes. So often, people like to try to look at a number from a lab test and call it a disease. We sincerely believe that fever, fluctuating blood sugar, pain, apnea, and most other diseases are self-protective in nature. These things can be treated, but only at the cost of harming your body. They can only go away when they are no longer necessary, and they are only necessary under one condition...

Blindness

Our bodies are designed to adapt to our environment. We have a certain ability to perceive the environment. The better we perceive, which generally means see, hear, taste, and feel, the more possibility we have to perceive the environment accurately. It really is that simple.

Our approach to health is not to try to be healthy at all, but to emphasize growth partly by improving our perceptions. Every program we have is designed to develop your potential, not to get rid of symptoms. Symptoms usually go away as your perceptions improve. This might sound good, or even obvious, but do you realize that the exact opposite approach is being employed all across the world?

Comfort is the Greatest Obstacle to Health

Most people define health as comfort. When we have pain, we get an injection. When we are tired, try some stimulants. When we are depressed, same thing. We try to numb our anxiety. Interestingly, all these things work so well, that we resort to them again and again. Ironically, the number we become, the less we can tolerate realities of life, like gravity and relationships. We become less and less capable and need more and more numbing treatments. But they do work, we think, so we use them over and over.

Rule Number 1. Your Symptoms Have A Purpose

The greatest compassion can be seen in the way we were built. We are never punished, but alerted. But not only are we alerted, we are treated at the same time. The treatment occurs spontaneously by the simple process of experiencing the discomfort. You probably do not hear that very often.

Take pain as an example. When it hurts, it strongly advises you not to move it. That way, the body can stop the bleeding and start repairing without being aggravated. But that is just part of the process. If you actually experience the pain, your brain is gaining both a better perception of the hurt area, as well as a better ability handle future injuries. In other words, people who simply allow themselves to feel the pain will end up with less of it for two reasons. First, they notice sooner when they are hurting themselves, and second, when they do get hurt, the brain can process the pain without having to resort to a panic.

The same story could be told about every symptom, but the theme is the same.

Treating Diseases Necessitates Disease

You probably assume that diabetes treatments is treating the diabetes, but think again. When your cells are overloaded with sugar, they stop letting sugar in. You end up with high blood sugar. You then can urinate a lot of it out. The diabetes is not a disease, but a way to protect the cells. But it is treated by taking a pill that forces the sugar back into the cell. Now, your numbers look better, but your cells are in worse shape. Also, since people are told to take the meds when the blood sugar is high, it becomes next to impossible to get rid of all that sugar. Whenever the body tries to get rid of it, you hit it over the head with a hammer and take another pill preventing yourself from getting rid of the sugar. Again, the same theme exists for all the major diseases we have looked at.

The Best Disclaimer Ever

First of all, if your are on drugs, your body has adapted to it. Never do anything drastic like going off pills without professional help.

We do not claim to have the cure for disease. We do not even try to cure disease. That happens or not, but we do not try to make it happen directly. Instead, we simply try to understand the intent of the design, and proceed to follow it.
